Literary Submissions
Submit your original literary work here. Submissions must be no later than Friday, December 9th, 2011 at 11:59pm. All submissions must be double-spaced in a Microsoft Word .doc format (not .docx), and 12 point Times New Roman font is preferred. All submissions must have a title. For anonymity during judging, all personal information must be excluded from the actual document, including the name of the author.
If your entry is selected, the Phoenix literary staff will notify you by email. Once accepted for the Phoenix, your piece may be edited by the literary staff. In submitting to the Phoenix, you give us one-time rights to publish your work in the magazine as well as on the website. You retain the copyrights to your own work.
You will be asked to write a short contributor's statement as part of the submission process. Two questions about the work you are submitting will be posed; please answer one or both of them. Answers must be 3-10 sentences. All pieces will require this information in order to be considered for publication. Your statement will be featured along with your work in the 2011 Phoenix and may be edited by our literary staff.
